 With the
hustle & bustle of Newport's famed wharves and
ocean beach just minutes walk away, you'll be
surprised by the quiet calm of our wonderful,
Newport, RI lodging residential location. Complimentary off-street
parking is a nice luxury and gives you the
freedom to take advantage of everything Newport
has to offer.
Originally constructed in the late 1880s, the
Beech Tree Inn is now fully modernized with
enlarged rooms and all the amenities -
air-conditioning, cable TV, hair dryer,
telephone, soda machine, ice machine, Wi-Fi, &
more. Make yourself at home by relaxing with an
afternoon cup of tea or glass of sherry…browse
through a book from our shelves…or play board
games with your children. Families are welcome.
You can meet other guests and make new
friends…or hide away for private moments.
Besides being known for the "biggest breakfast
in town" (Frommer's), you'll also find a bowl of
candy, nuts, or snacks to enjoy.
Come anytime - we're open year round - to enjoy
our spacious, comfortable rooms with
private baths, lovely gardens, and cozy living
room. In the winter, we feature massage in your
room, games by the player piano or fireplace,
and homemade soup on special Friday nights. In
the summer, we set out beach towels and provide
discount tickets to several local attractions.
In addition to quiet getaways, the Beech Tree
Inn and Cottage is very versatile & meets lots
of needs. Our lovely meeting room is perfect for
small gatherings. We often host reunions,
wedding engagements or anniversaries, breakfast
seminars from the Naval War College, business
off-sites and meetings of all sorts. Plus we're
a perfect spot for extended stays including
military TDY or TAD ('cause we're retired
military & know how it feels!) We also offer
weekly rentals in a fully-furnished apartment
for folks enjoying a longer vacation.
 And for those who just can't travel without
their furry friend, we understand! We're pet
friendly and have a special room for you.
